Since 1959, Pack 478 has been guiding young scouts through thrilling outdoor adventures, hands-on skill-building, and lifelong friendships right here in Salisbury.
A tight-knit community of scouts, parents, and leaders building memories on Snow Hill Road since 1959.
Pack 478 was founded in 1959 with a simple belief: every young person deserves the chance to discover their potential through outdoor adventure and brotherhood. For over 65 years, we've been that guiding hand for families in the Salisbury area.
Meeting weekly at the Moose Lodge on Snow Hill Road, our pack combines the structured learning of the Cub Scout program with the kind of unstructured fun that kids remember forever. From campouts under the stars to pinewood derby races, every meeting is an opportunity to grow.
Every den is staffed by dedicated volunteer leaders who make scouting a family affair.
Our programs follow the national BSA curriculum, tailored to each age group from Tigers to Webelos.
Youth protection trained adults, background-checked volunteers, and a culture of respect for every scout.
From first-time Tigers to adventure-ready Webelos, each rank is designed to challenge, inspire, and celebrate growth.
The journey begins here! Tigers partner with an adult to explore the world of scouting through fun games, outdoor activities, and early badge work.
Wolves run in packs! This year builds teamwork, personal responsibility, and a growing love for the outdoors through 12 exciting badge adventures.
Bears strengthen their paws! This year dives deeper into STEM, physical fitness, and community service with challenging adventures ahead.
Webelos are ready for the next level! These scouts tackle Arrow of Light, earn merit badges, and prepare for the transition to Boy Scout troop.
Scouting isn't just for kids. Parents volunteer, families attend events together, and our pack becomes an extended community that supports every member.
A glimpse into the adventures, friendships, and memories that make Pack 478 special.
My son has been with Pack 478 for three years now, and the growth I've seen in him is incredible. He comes home talking about the outdoors, his friends, and the badges he's earning. The leaders genuinely care.
We moved to the area and joining Pack 478 was the best decision. Our daughter made friends in the first meeting, and we've connected with other families too. It feels like a second family.
As a volunteer leader, I can say this pack is special. The parents are involved, the kids are respectful, and the adventures never stop. I'm proud to be part of Pack 478.
